Workshops

AC4SA Workshops

Our workshops can be tailored to fit your audience, whether it is student athletes, student athletes with parents/guardians or students, parents and coaches/staff.

AWARENESS AND SUPPORT

Designed for middle and high school student-athletes, this workshop emphasizes the value of sport and encourages participation throughout high school and college. We clarify how college admissions and future employers recognize the power of sports in shaping character and life skills. We present a broad overview of pursuing College Athletics and provide helpful insight into the NCAA requirements. In addition, former college athletes speak directly about real-life experiences of how their sport built character and opened up a brighter future for them.
(Optional add on segment: Growth Mindset with SAT skill assessment/practice plan)

RESUME AND CAREER

Designed for 10/11 grade student athletes, this workshop emphasizes involvement in community service and leadership roles as essential ingredients (along with grades) for students to build their resume on and off the field. Additionally students will be introduced to useful tools for exploring careers/majors and hear directly from former athletes who found their careers after sports. Students will be guided through the NCAA account/profile page.
(Optional segment: SAT Plan and/or Intro NCSA)

COLLEGE CHOICES & RECRUITING PROCESS

Geared toward the 11/12 grade student athlete, this workshop explains and clarifies each level of College Sports (Div I,II,III, Junior College) from the framework of overall student success. Finding the right fit is vital for the student athlete to excel on the field and in the classroom. Students will explore using online tools to find schools that best match their unique academic /athletic profile. NCAA Eligibility registration will be reviewed as well as fee waivers and transcript issues. Recruiting timelines as well as SAT/ACT dates and deadlines will be discussed.

COLLEGE READY & FAFSA

Geared toward the 12 grade student-athlete, this workshop can stand alone or be incorporated into a college-ready presentation. We provide valuable insight on applying for and navigating FAFSA scholarships. Former college athletes will speak honestly about what it looks like to be an athlete in college. NCAA Eligibility registration and amateurism certification will be reviewed. Additionally, we’ll discuss the pros/cons of completing college credit courses prior to attending.
