GLASTONBURY, CT, Baseball 860 (baseball860.org) announced today that, through the generosity of local Glastonbury businesses, help of the Glastonbury High School baseball team, and Glastonbury Amateur Baseball, along with the Washington Nationals Baseball Team Youth Academy, they were able to provide Connecticut Children’s Hospital patients with over 250 gifts for the holidays.
Glastonbury businesses, including CT Sports & Fitness, O’Reilly’s Wine & Spirits, and Gene Langan Volkswagon, came together to provide gifts for patients at Connecticut Children’s Hospital who need to spend the holidays in the hospital. To help with the gift drive, Glastonbury High School baseball players set up the collections and are delivering the gifts by Christmas. The gift drive is especially meaningful for the Glastonbury HS baseball team, since fellow teammate, Tommy Kuzoian, is currently a patient at the hospital.
“This is a great thing you are doing and honored to be a small part in helping, said Brian Suriner, President of Glastonbury Amateur Baseball.” The gift contributions not only brought a smile to young people in the hospital, but also supported the CCARC, a non-profit helping adults with intellectual disabilities and their families. CCARC’s adults made the red boxes used to collect the gifts.
“I am grateful for the tremendous outpouring of support provided by local Glastonbury businesses, the Glastonbury High School baseball team, the Washington Nationals Youth Academy, and especially The Glastonbury Amateur Baseball organization, to spread holiday joy with patients at Connecticut Children’s Hospital”, said Baseball 860 Founder, Jack Sundberg.
