ATLANTA, GA, Baseball 860 (BB860) continues to widen its reach serving Horizons Atlanta. In February, BB860 Founder Jack Sundberg visited two Horizon program schools in Atlanta supported by their Georgia Tech partnership, Charles R. Drew Charter School and Grady High School, to meet with Horizons’ Scholars and share his Dream Big presentation.
Horizons National is a network of high-quality, tuition-free, immersive, academic and enrichment programs for children in underserved communities, providing out-of-school-time support for the duration of a child’s K-12th grade experience.
According to Jeanette Lopez, Horizons Atlanta Program Outreach Coordinator, the students connected with the idea of following a passion and gained motivation from talking with Jack. He provided a “fresh face” and a “little push needed for the semester” for the Horizons’ Scholars, said Jeanette, reinforcing the Horizons’ mission and values.
“I look forward to heading back to Horizons Atlanta again and continuing to serve such an impactful organization as Horizons,” said Jack.
BB860 works directly with community organizations and young people, connecting businesses to community organizations, and creating links between businesses to achieve its mission. With corporate sponsors and event partners, BB860 is able to offer transformational services that have a greater impact in the communities it serves.
BB860 is sponsored by Volaris Capital Management (www.volariscapital.com). Volaris Capital CEO & Chief Investment Officer, Vivek Kapoor, is a former faculty member at Georgia Tech.
Jack Sundberg played baseball at the University of CT and currently plays for the Washington Nationals organization.
